Bradenton, Fla - Freshman Michael Forret's performance in the last two games earned himself the accolade of FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week. This was the second time that Forret has earned the weekly accolade this season.
"It's a credit to Michael," said head coach Tim Hill II. "He's a great pitcher and I'm glad he's on our side. He's confident, competitive and his stuff is good. He believes in himself and hats off to him for getting the accolade."
Forret went 2-0 for the week andpitched nine scoreless innings combined in the games against Florida Southwestern and St. Pete College.
In the win against FSW, Forret threw two scoreless innings of relief with five strikeouts before throwing seven scoreless inning with nine strikeouts in the win against SPC.
Forret will look to gain some more momentum in his next start as the Manatees play Hillsborough.
