SCF BVB Set for Saint Leo/PBSC

Bradenton, Fla - The SCF beach volleyball team (4-0, 4-0 Region 8) will look to continue to play strong for their next two matches as they will travel to Saint Leo for their next road trip. The Manatees will take on Saint Leo University (2-0) and Palm Beach State (4-2, 2-0 Region 8) February 24 at 10 am (vs St. Leo) and 12 pm (vs Palm Beach State).

Region 8 Standings:
1. SCF (4-0, 4-0)
2. Palm Beach State (4-2, 2-0)
3. Lake Sumter State (3-3, 2-2)
4. St. John's River State (1-3, 1-3)
5. Florida State College at Jacksonville (0-4, 0-4)

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of another sweep last week in Tavares as they shutout Florida State College at Jacksonville 5-0 before they defeated Lake Sumter State 4-1.

While four out of five of the pairs have been unbeaten at 4-0, freshmen Aleksandra Wrobel and Addison Beaver are leading the way out of all the pairs. Wrobel and Beaver play at the #3 spot and between their four matches, the duo has held their opponents to single digit sets in five out of eight of them.

Scouting Saint Leo:
Saint Leo represents the NCAA DII Sunshine State Conference. They are lead by head coach Natalia Koryzna, who enters her third season as head coach.

The Lady Lions opened their season on February 14 where they shutout Southeastern University (NAIA) and Webber International University (NAIA) both by a score of 5-0.

The sophomore pair of Kayla David and Julia Panko lead the way at the #2 pair spot. David is a former Manatee who was a part of the 2022 National Championship Team.

Scouting Palm Beach State:
The Lady Panthers are coming off of a split at home where they defeated Ave Maria University 3-2 before falling to Florida Southern 3-2. They are currently in second place in the standings.

Sophomores Zuzanna Michalska and Ana Paula Fallas Cruz lead the way as the #1 pair where they are currently 5-1 so far. They were named last week's NJCAA Region 8 Pair of the Week after going 4-0 in their first four matches.
