The FGCU men's and women' tennis teams wrap up their fall seasons at the Dick Vital Invitational at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Bradenton, Florida.
"This Dick Vitale Tournament has been the culmination of our fall for the last 7 years, and it's an amazing weekend of competition, and the perfect way to end our season as a team" head coach CJ Weber said. "We get to compete against players from all over the country, and it's on clay which always provides a unique element. We plan on using our experience from this last weekend on clay at Bonita Bay to finish the fall very successfully."
Admission is free as donations and money from advertising will help benefit the V Foundation and Cancer Research.
The singles bracket features a 32-player draw while the doubles draw is composed of 16 teams. All competition will be played on clay courts and will begin Friday at 8:30 a.m.
Last Time Out:
FGCU is one week removed from the FineMark FGCU Collegiate Open in which saw the Eagles pick up wins over players from Illinois, Louisville, Memphis, Purdue, Princeton, UCF and USF. It will be the second-straight week both teams will participate on clay courts as last week's competition at the Bonita Bay Club were also on clay.
