2nd Herd Returns Home for Santa Fe

The SCF basketball team (9-4) return home from their trip in Ocala as they welcome Santa Fe (6-4) to Hal Chasey Gymnasium Saturday afternoon, December 7 at 4 pm. This will be the Manatees' final home game of 2019.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of facing Central Florida in a heartbreaker as they fell 87-79 in Ocala, thus splitting the series.

Sophomores D'Moi Hodge and Isiah Dasher and freshman Jordan Clark predominantly lead the Manatees offense.

Hodge, who was named the NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week for the fourth straight week and the NJCAA National Player of the Week, is averaging 27.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.7 blocks per game. Hodge finished his game against CCF with 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.

In his career, the native of Tortola, British Virgin Islands current has 929 career points and is 71 away from reaching 1,000 in his career.

Dasher, who is also on path to getting 1,000 career points, is averaging 17.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. Dasher had 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists against CCF. Dasher is 269 points away from reaching 1,000 career points.

Clark is averaging 13.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Against CCF, Clark had 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Freshman Marshall Kearing and sophomore Chris Scarborough continue to do their roles as the big men on the team.

Kearing is averaging 10.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. Kearing was held to four points and three rebounds against CCF, but did have five blocks

Scarborough is averaging 4.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Scarborough had eight points and four rebounds against CCF.

Redshirt freshmen Calvin McCutcheon plays a key role at the point guard position as he is averaging 6.1 points and 3.7 assists per game. McCutcheon had 10 points and four assists against CCF.

Scouting Santa Fe:
The Saints are coming off of two straight home games where they fell to Florida Gateway 61-58 before defeating Palm Beach State 80-73. They will face Polk State Wednesday night, November 4 at 7 pm prior to playing SCF.

Sophomore Luka Filipovic is averaging 10.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game per game while redshirt freshman Nikola Jerotic leads the team with 12.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Against Palm Beach, Filipovic had eight points and seven rebounds while Jerotic was held to six points and three rebounds.

Sophomore Ryan Leonard is averaging 10.8 points and four rebounds per game. Against Palm Beach, Leonard had 18 points and four rebounds.

Series History:
The Manatees are 6-10 against the Saints. The Manatees faced Santa Fe earlier in the season on the road in Gainsville and won 101-92 in overtime.
