5th Herd Sweeps St. Pete

St. Petersburg, Fla - The SCF basketball team (6-4) continued their momentum of success with as they defeated St. Pete College (2-8) 88-52. With the win, the Manatees swept the Titans and are 17-19 overall.

In the first half, the Manatees would start off strong at a high pace and soon pulled the lead all the way to double digits. In the end, the Manatees would take the first half 46-24.

At the beginning of the second half, the Manatees would go on a huge 28-8 run before they continued to keep their foot on the gas and seal the deal for the win.

Sophomore Skylar Wicks would lead the offense for the Manatees as he finished with 22 points (7-for-14 FG, 4-for-8 3PT, 4-for-4 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block. Classmate Cobey Harraway would also finish in double-digit scoring as he had 11 points (4-for-10 FG, 1-for-6 3PT, 2-for-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists.

Sophomore Ronnail Tape and freshman Josh Ijeh would round out the order with nine points apiece. Tape (4-for-5 FG, 1-for-1 FT) added four rebounds, while Ijeh (4-for-5 FG, 1-for-2 FT) added six rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Sophomore Ametri Moss and freshmen Dresean Knight and Kasheem Grady each had eight points apiece. Moss (4-for-6 FG) added five rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block, while Knight (4-for-4 FG) added two rebounds and two blocks Grady (3-for-7 FG, 2-for-4 3PT) added four rebounds.

Freshman Malyk Rebetez lead the passing as he finished with nine assists to go along with two rebounds and a steal.

Redshirt freshman Zach Smith (two rebounds and three assists) and freshmen Elijah 'Slim' Terry (four points, nine rebounds, two steals and a block), Isaiah 'Ziggy' Josue (four points, two rebounds and two assists) and Shawn Lefrense (five points, one rebound and one steal) also contributed in the game.

Freshman Brendan Williams was the only Titan that scored in double digits as he finished with 11 points. while classmate Jaden Ezomo had 12 rebounds to go along with eight points and a block.

Other Southern Conference Scores:
RV Indian River State (9-1) defeated Florida State College at Jacksonville (3-5) 85-63. The Pioneers will take on Palm Beach State (3-3) Saturday afternoon, December 3 at 2 pm.

Hillsborough (9-1) defeated the RAAD Sports Elite Postgrad team 112-69. The Hawks will face Pro Holmes Sports Academy Saturday afternoon, December 3 at 2 pm.

The Manatees will return home to Hal Chasey Gymnasium on the weekend as they will welcome Polk State (4-4) and Gulf Coast State (8-3) on Friday night, December 2 (vs Polk State @7 pm) and Sunday afternoon, December 4 (vs Gulf Coast State @1 pm).
