The RV SCF basketball team (17-5, 3-1 Suncoast) dropped their first loss Suncoast play as they fell to #2 FSW (20-1, 3-0 Suncoast) 96-69. With the loss, the Manatees still have yet to win against the Buccaneers as they are now 0-11.
It was sophomore D'Moi Hodge that led the Manatees offense as he finished with 26 points (9-for-21 FG, 3-for-10 3PT, 5-for-7 FT), six rebounds, one assist, three steals and two blocks. Classmate Isiah Dasher followed with 18 points (2-for-9 FG, 14-for-14 FT), three rebounds, one assist and two steals. Freshman Marshall Kearing was one rebound shy of his sixth double-double as he finished with 13 points (4-for-11 FG, 1-for-2 3PT, 4-for-5 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
Sophomore Christnoff Scarborough (three points, five rebounds, one assist and two blocks) and Max Bell-Ramos (two points and one rebound), redshirt freshmen Jaylen Jones (fourpoints, one rebound and one assist) and Calvin McCutcheon (one rebound) and freshman Jordan Clark (four points, two rebounds and one assist) also contributed in the game.
For the Buccaneers, four of the players scored in double figures. Sophomore Keon Ellis led the way offensively with 34 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Freshman Jermaine Marshall and sophomore Jalen Finch followed a double-double each. Marshall had 14 points and 12 rebounds to go along with two blocks, while Finch had 15 points and 10 assists. Sophomore De'Lazarus Keys rounded out the lineup with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Notes:
Hodge's 26 points pushed him to 1,156 in his career and 559 for the season. Hodge needs 205 points to break James Life's single season scoring record (762) and 186 for the all-time scoring record held by Life (1,341).
Dasher's 18 points pushed him to 872 in his career and remains 128 points away from joining Hodge as the second active member to reach 1,000 career points.

Polk State (14-5, 2-1 Suncoast) defeated Hillsborough (8-10, 0-3 Suncoast) 78-69 in Tampa. The Hawks will face St. Pete College (9-11, 0-3 Suncoast) Saturday, January 18 at 4 pm.
