SCF BVB Sets for Eckerd and St. Pete

The SCF beach volleyball team (3-0) will now set for another road trip as they head to the North Shore Beach in St. Pete for another tri-match. The Manatees will go against NCAA DII Eckerd College (3-1) at 1 pm and St. Pete (3-3) at 3 pm Tuesday afternoon, March 17. The match will be dubbed as an exhibition matchup between SCF and Eckerd.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of competing in a tri-match at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares where they defeated NJCAA Region 4 Bryant and Stratton 3-2 and host Lake Sumter 4-1.

The freshmen duo of Bailey Sikkema and Lisa Jaunet and the duo of sophomore Lakeesha Esseboom and freshman Brooke Henry are currently 3-0 as pairs. Both pairs earned two wins against B&S and LSSC.

The duo of sophomore Sydney Jaco and freshman Leilani Wilcox-Nanai are 2-1 this season where the split in tri-match winning against B&S and losing to LSSC.

Scouting Eckerd:
Eckerd is led by head coach Michelle Piantadosi-Lima, who enters her eighth season as head coach and the 10th head coach in program history. The Tritons finished last season 2-22 overall and went 1-5 in the AVCA Small College Championship in Tavares.

The Tritons opened their season at the hosted event, the Eckerd College Battle at the Bay where they went 3-1 Splitting day one winning 3-2 against Florida Southern and losing 5-0 to Tampa before sweeping day two defeating Tennessee-Martin and Jacksonville both by a score of 3-2.

The duos of junior Paula Hoffmann and freshman Anna Jungjohann (No. 1 Pair) and sophomore Ivey Andrews and junior Payton Meader (No. 4 Pair) are both 3-1 so far.

Prior to playing SCF, the Tritons will host and face Tusculum University in a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon, March 11 at 2 and 4 pm.

Scouting SPC:
The Titans are led by indoor head coach Scott White and are coming off of starting the season at the Stetson Spring Fling Invitational in Deland where they split the first day losing 4-1 to #7 Stetson and winning 3-2 against NCAA DII St. Leo before being swept on day two losing 4-1 to #16 Georgia State and 5-0 to #18 Florida Atlantic.

The Titans would then play in St. Leo, Florida and defeat the University of Tennessee-Martin and host St. Leo both by a score of 3-2 on March 4

The duo of sophomore Roberta Ribeiro and freshman Petra Neciporuka are 5-1 on the season at the #1 spot.
