The SCF tennis team (2-6, 0-4 Region 8) dropped a heartbreaker at the SCF Tennis Complex as they fell 7-2 to Broward (2-0, 2-0 Region 8).
In doubles play, sophomore Sara Ramirez-Goncalves and freshman Karla Menendez won the Manatees only double point at #1 doubles by a score of 8-6. The Seahawks remained ahead 2-1.
Heading into singles play, freshman Allie Beck would be the first to fall at #6 singles as she lost a 6-0 pair decision to sophomore Bar Shimoni before redshirt freshman Mackenzie Vraspir to sophomore Giulia Leali 6-1, 6-2 at #5 singles.
Sophomore Brie Botsford would fall 6-3, 6-2 to freshman Polina Khotko at #4 singles for the Seahawks win.
Finishing up the last three matches, Menendez would fall 6-2, 6-4 to freshman Ajda Bukovec at #2 singles, but soon freshman Martina Shakhnazarova would give the Manatees their second point at #3 singles over freshman Lizaveta Krasouskaya with a 6-2 pair decision.
Ramirez-Goncalves would be the last Manatee to fall at #1 singles to freshman Isabella Elena Perez Flores in a 6-4 pair decision.
