After struggling during non-conference play, the Eagles (11-8, 2-0 A-SUN) kicked back into high gear and beat the Spartans (5-14, 0-2 A-SUN).
Once again, the player leading the charge was redshirt junior Zach Johnson. Johnson finished with 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 3FG), two rebounds, six assists and one steal.
Redshirt junior Dinero Mercurius finished with 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-7 3FG) and two rebounds.
Redshirt junior Ricky Doyle finished with 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal.
Redshirt senior Brandon Goodwin, senior Christian Terrell, sophomore RaySean Scott Jr and redshirt junior Michael Gilmore had seven points each. Goodwin added nine rebounds and three assists, Terrell added seven rebounds and four assists, Scott added six rebounds and Gilmore added two rebounds. With his seven points, Goodwin is now 48 points away from being the 10th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points
Other players that contributed off the bench were freshman Brian Thomas, sophomore Christian Carlyle, redshirt sophomore Brady Ernst and freshman Darnell Rogers.
Thomas had four points and six rebounds.
Carlyle had two points, one rebound and three steals.
Ernst contributed with two rebounds and two assists.
Rogers contributed with one rebound.
Redshirt senior Josh Ko, junior Dolan Mahoney and freshman Ryan McAdoo also played in the game.
For the Spartans, freshman Avery Diggs led the way with 12 points, six rebounds, one assist and one block.
Junior Jure Span had 11 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Junior Malk Moore had 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Redshirt junior Mike Cunningham had eight points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Senior Ramel Thompkins had one point, eight rebounds and two blocks.
Off the bench, redshirt freshman Thomas Booker had eight points and one steal.
Senior Carson Smith had four points and two rebounds.
Junior Deion Holmes had four points, one rebound and one steal.
Junior Pat Welch also entered the game.
