FGCU WBB vs. Kennesaw Recap

The FGCU women's basketball team (18-3, 4-0 A-SUN) continued their dominance on the floor as they clipped the Owls (4-11, 0-4 A-SUN) by a score of 78-57. With the win, the Eagles are on a eight-game winning streak.

Leading the way offensively was senior Rose Julien. Julien had 19 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Sophomore Nasrin Ulel had eight points and one rebound.

Senior Erica Nelson had seven points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Sophomore Tytionia Adderly did not score any points in the game, but contributed with 10 rebounds (nine offensive, one defensive), three assists and one steal. With her nine offensive boards, Adderly now has 181 career offensive rebounds and is now three away from surpassing Courtney Chihil (183) for seventh all-time.

Redshirt senior Taylor Grandijan was one rebound shy of a double-double, but finished with 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal. Grandijan remains third all-time in career 3-pointers made (265) and is 29 away from surpassing former WNBA player Whitney Knight (294) for second all-time. With her nine rebounds, Grandijan now has 448 career rebounds and remains seventh all-time in career rebounds. In fact, Grandijan is also neck and neck with Adderly for career rebounds as Adderly's 10 rebounds put her at 437 career rebounds.

Off the bench, redshirt junior Lisa Zderadicka finished with 11 points, three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.

"We had a good start, but had trouble maintaining our intensity," FGCU head coach Karl Smesko said. "Ty, Rose and Lisa had great games (to help us get the win)."

Redshirt senior China Dow finished with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Redshirt senior Jessica Cattani finished with nine points, five rebounds and one assist.

Freshman Alyssa Blair and redshirt freshman Chandler Ryan also contributed to the game. Blair had two points while Ryan contributed with two assists. Freshman Sheahen Dowling also entered the game.

For the Owls, freshman Kamiyah Street led the way offensively with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.

Freshman Alexis Poole had three points, five rebounds, one assist and one block before fouling out.

Redshirt senior Clara Young contributed with one block.

Sophomore Carlotta Gianolla had 15 points, four rebounds and one assist.

Junior Iceis Walker had two points and three rebounds.

Off the Owl bench, freshman Breanna Hoover led the way. Hoover finished with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Redshirt sophomore Alexandra Landby had two points, three rebounds and three blocks.

Freshman Lexi Mann had six points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Junior Janae Omusi also entered the game.
