The FGCU men's soccer team will travel across Alligator Alley Wednesday night for a showdown against FAU before starting A-SUN play at UNF Saturday night.
The Green and Blue:
FGCU returns to action after dropping a 4-1 decision to No. 13 UCF last Wednesday night. Ryan Medilah leads the Eagles in goals (three), and points (seven). Ivan Rosales has netted a pair of goals while Shak Adams (Antioch, Tenn./Cane Ridge HS) tallied his first goal of the season versus UCF to move him into sole possession for second place all-time on the FGCU record book.
In net, keeper Gustavo Vasconcelos (3-3-1) has started all seven contests, securing 31 saves (1.80 GAA), and one clean sheet.
Scouting the Owls:
FAU is 2-3-0 this season, most recently falling to No. 21 Kentucky on the road, 3-0. Ivan Mykhailenko leads the Owl's attack with two goals and one assist for five points. Andres Macias has dished out a team-best two assists. Daniel Ragoo and Haygay Jalon have split time in net as each have recorded a win.
In the all-time meetings, FGCU holds a 5-4-1 edge over FAU. Last year's contest in the Nest was cancelled due to lightning.
Scouting the Ospreys:
Overall this season, UNF is 2-2-1 and are coming off a 1-0 win over Liberty to start A-SUN play last Saturday night. Jake Hawker has bagged two goals so far to lead the offense while three other Ospreys have recorded one assist. In net, Padraic Gilley has logged just over 360 minutes in four starts collecting four saves.
FGCU leads the all-time series 10-2-2 and have outscored UNF 7-0 in its last two games.
