SCF Baseball Readies for CCF Test

Bradenton, Fla - After a much needed wakeup call, the SCF baseball team (2-4) return to the road as they travel to Ocala to take on College of Central Florida (6-1) at Goodlett Field Wednesday afternoon, February 3 at 2:30.


Last Time Out:

The Manatees are coming off of a big come from behind win Monday night at home defeating Santa Fe 13-9. The seven run rally in the bottom of the eighth helped the Manatees get the win.


Sophomore Richard Rodriguez leads the team batting .333 with five RBI. Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with two RBI against Santa Fe.


Freshman Kevin Karstetter leads the team with seven RBI to go along with batting .211 with a home run. Karstetter was 1-for-5 with four RBI against Santa Fe.


Sophomore Jack Anderson is batting .263 with a home run and four RBI. Anderson was 1-for-4 with a triple against Santa Fe.


Sophomore Cole Ayers is the main ace pitcher for the Manatee as he is 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA with 11 strikeouts. Ayers’ last outing was against Miami Dade where he threw five innings and struck out seven batters for the win.

Coach 300:

For head coach Tim Hill II, he is on pace to reaching 300 career wins as head coach for the Manatees after taking over for his father in 2013. Hill is currently 19 wins away from reaching the milestone.


Scouting CCF:

The Patriots, who ranked #18 in the NJCAA Preseason National Polls, are coming off of an 11 inning 9-4 win over Pasco-Hernanes State.


Freshman Tre Hondras is leading the way for the Patriots as he is batting .379 with three home runs and 12 RBI, while redshirt freshman Matthew Cedarburg follows with two home runs, nine RBI and two stolen bases while leading the team batting .414.


Sophomore Logan Adams is 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA and nine strikeouts.

Series History:

Overall the Manatees are 9-6-2 against the Patriots. Last time both teams met was on February 5, 2020 where the Manatees won the game 3-2, which happened to be their 2020 home opener. The Patriots last win over the Manatees was on February 13, 2019.
