FGCU WTEN vs MTSU; FAU Preview

The FGCU women's tennis team is back in action taking on Middle Tennessee Friday morning and FAU Saturday morning. Both matches have an 11 am first-serve.

Last Time Out:
The Eagles are 11 days removed from their last match in which they suffered a 6-1 loss to #17 Miami. In doubles play, the No. 1 team of junior Maja Ornberg and senior Julia AscĂșa (2-1) defeated Miami's 51st-ranked doubles tandem, 6-2. In singles action, AscĂșa (2-1) carried her strong play onto court No. 3 where she won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

Scouting MTSU:
The Blue Raiders come into Southwest Florida with a 1-3 record. The duo of senior Costanza Magazzini and sophomore Zani Barbard boast a 3-0 doubles record, most recently picking up a 6-1 win over Wichita State on the top court. Meanwhile, in singles competition, junior Lidia Burrows is 2-2, playing mostly out of the No. 3 slot.

The Eagles are 1-1 against MTSU. Last season, the Eagles picked up a 5-2 win over the Blue Raiders at home.

Scouting FAU:
The Owls boast a 1-2 overall record with its lone win coming over USF. In that 4-3 victory, the Owls captured two of three doubles wins, followed by a trio of wins in singles action. Freshman Martina Kudelova is 2-0 in doubles play while holding a 1-0 record on court No. 2 in singles.

FGCU trailed FAU last season on the road 3-0, before claiming three-straight singles victories en route to the 4-3 triumph. Overall, the Eagles are 9-2 against the Owls.
