In the game after FGCU vs Georgetown, the Hoyas remained on the field and would fall 5-1 to the Cardinals.

Fast forward to FGCU vs. Georgetown. Head coach Dave Deiros would send sophomore Morgan White (1-0, 0.00 ERA) to the mound while Georgetown head coach Pat Conlan would counter by sending sophomore Katie Vannicola (0-0, 12.27 ERA) to the mound.

FGCU struck first in the bottom of the first. After the first two outs, junior first baseman Racquel Fournet hit a single up the middle and advanced to second on throwing error. Junior catcher Brooke Clemens brought Fournet home on a fielder's choice. Clemens would advance to second after another error. Senior third baseman Brittany McGuire would reach first on third fielding error from the Hoyas while Clemens advanced to third. McGuire would then steal second and awaited the at-bat from senior designated player LuLu Newmark. The former Bowling Green State transfer would drive a single to left and bring in Clemens and McGuire and then advance to second on a throwing error before senior shortstop Brianne Innamorato flied out to end the inning.

Until the fifth inning, the Eagles' defensive was holding off strongly with White at the mound as she kept the Hoyas scoreless. The Eagles would then add one more run to the mix thanks to senior second baseman Ashley Swiderski. The Naples native would smack a lead-off home run to left field that barely hit the top of the fence.

Throughout the whole game, White not only held the Hoyas scoreless, she held them hitless until the final out of the seventh inning. With two outs in the top of the seventh, White's no-hitter was broken after sophomore first baseman Noelle Holiday hit a two-run homer to cut the deficit. White would then be pulled and Deiros would have freshman Taylor Bauman come in to get the save for the Eagles with two out left. Bauman would get freshman shortstop Savannah Jones to ground out and end the game.

"It was a masterful performance by Morgan White; she did a fantastic job limiting Georgetown to one hit," said Deiros. "Once we lost the no-hitter, it was time for Taylor Bauman to come in and shut the door and she did a great job. Congratulations to our team, we're 3-0 and let's see if we can win the tournament tomorrow."

White would earn her second win after throwing 6.2 innings giving up two unearned runs on one hit and striking out two batters.

Bauman would earn her third save of the season after throwing one-third of an inning.

Offensively, Fournet was 3-for-3 with one run scored.

Newmark was 1-for-3 with the two RBIs.

Swiderski was 1-for-4 with the home run.

Freshman Farley Callaghan, senior Erica Ward and sophomore Kate Kelly also had one hit each.

Vannicola would get the loss for the Hoyas after throwing five innings and giving up four runs (one earned) on seven hits while walking one batter and striking out two.

Sophomore Isabelle Ortiz threw one inning, giving up one hit and walking one batter.

Holiday had the only hit for the Hoyas which was the home run.

Quotes from Other Coaches from Other Games:
Memphis: "I thought that we came out today ready to pick up another win," said head coach Natalie Poole. "We saw that both offensively and with our pitching. Defensively, we were able to play behind Katie to keep runners out of scoring position. Offensively, we had contributions from our whole lineup including bench players in pinch-hit situations."
