SCF Softball Back on the Road @ Santa Fe

Bradenton, Fla - After completing their home opener Thursday, the SCF softball team (7-3) return on the road for their next six games. The Manatees will first travel to Gainesville to take on Santa Fe College (8-4) for a doubleheader at the Santa Fe Softball Complex Tuesday afternoon, February 15 at 1 and 3 pm. 

Last Time Out:

The Manatees are coming off of completing their home opener where they split with #13 College of Central Florida where they won the first game 6-5 before losing and being hitless in the second game 9-0 in five innings.

Freshmen Chantell Schurr, Gabi Nicholson and Olivia Siebert lead the path on the Manatees offense and basepaths. 

Schurr leads the team with two home runs while batting .364 with eight hits and seven RBI, while Nicholson leads the team with eight RBI while batting .333 with 10 hits and Siebert leads the team batting .433 with 13 hits, six RBI and four stolen bases.

On the mound, sophomores Samantha Hampton and Gracie Mullett lead the way in pitching. Hampton is currently 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA, six walks and 20 strikeouts, while Mullett is 3-2 with a 2.49 ERA, one save, five walks and 19 strikeouts.


Wild Cards:

Sophomores Mya Achenbach, Allie Bloski and Tori Copeland and freshman Presley O'Kimosh play big roles as the wildcards in the rotation.

Achenbach is currently batting .290 with a home run and four RBI. She was 1-for-5 with a home run against CCF.

Despite batting .111, Bloski still has four RBI in her name, which include a big two-RBI double against CCF.

Copeland is batting .400 with six hits and two stolen bases. She was 1-for-4 against CCF.

O'Kimosh is batting .296 with eight hits and five RBI.


Scouting Santa Fe:

The Lady Saints are coming off of sweeping their series over St. Pete College by scores of 2-1 and 15-0 (5).

Freshman Story Giebeig leads the team offensively batting .333 with four home runs and 14 RBI. Classmate Oliva Larkin leads overall with a .375 with 15 hits and 10 stolen bases.

On the mound, freshman Darian Ingram leads the way going 3-2 with a 1.24 ERA, five walks and 38 strikeouts.


Series History:

The Manatees are 22-8 against the Lady Saints.
