SCF Tennis Resumes Conference Play

Bradenton, Fla - The #6 SCF tennis team (2-0, 1-0 Region 8) will look to claim another win in conference play as they travel to Tampa to face-off against longtime conference foe Hillsborough at the HCC Tennis Center Friday afternoon, February 18 at noon.

Originally, the Manatees were scheduled to welcome Central Alabama Community College to the SCF Tennis Complex on February 22, but that meetup was cancelled.

Last Time Out:

The Manatees are coming off of their best start to the season as they swept #9 Eastern Florida State 9-0 on the road. It was the first time since 2019 that the Manatees swept their opponent.

In doubles action, sophomores Kia Carvalho-Landell and Carly Gascon Martinez, who are #4 in the nation in doubles are 2-0 this season. In fact, all three teams, which include #17 sophomores Sarah Forsyth and Luna Mouton, are 2-0.

In singles play, five of the six players are 2-0. Gascon Martinez, who is ranked #33 in the nation, is 1-1 after winning her singles match at the #1 singles spot against her former team in Eastern Florida State.

Scouting Hillsborough:

This will be the Hawks' season opener after they finished last season 6-0 overall with a 6-0 record in Region 8 play. They are coming off of competing in five scrimmages prior to their season opener against Nova Southeastern University, Florida Southern College, Barry University, University of Tampa and Rollins College.

The Manatees are 9-9 against the Hawks.
