"Our team did a really good job not playing unselfish tonight," said head coach Tom Parks. "It was a great team effort. We had a lineup that really looked good together from a team's standpoint mainly on the defensive end.
Before the game even started, the Manatees were caught in heavy traffic but were able to get to the game 25 minutes on the warm up clock with 35 minutes before tip-off.
"I just told the guys briefly to give a team effort and to limit extra possessions for them (PHSC)," said Parks on before the game. "Whether it's us turning the ball over or them getting offensive rebounds of any sort and we had to make sure to control the number of possessions we had in this game and we couldn't allow them to be comfortable in the second half and let the game be within reach because they are a very good hard-fighting, scrappy team."
Sophomore D'Moi Hodge lead the team with 23 points (9-for-12 FG, 3-for-5 3PT, 2-for-2 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks.
After a shaky knee injury in the home opener Saturday, sophomore Remy Robert II shook it off and finished with 18 points (5-for-16 FG, 5-for-13 3PT, 3-for-3 FT) and two rebounds.

"I don't think D'Moi (Hodge) took a shot in the first six or seven minutes, but his goal was to get everyone involved. Remy hit a lot of 3s and was hot when he got the ball," said Parks on Hodge and Robert II.
Sophomore Isiah Dasher finished with 17 points (7-for-14 FG, 3-for-5 FT), five rebounds, two assists and a steal, while freshman Jordan Clark finished with 10 points (2-for-8 FG, 6-for-6 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
"Jordan made some incredible passes and is so looking people up to whoever is hot on the court," said Parks on Clark. "And he loves stepping up to guys defensively. He's such a dog and a competitor."
Freshman Marshall Kearing played a lot more aggressive defensively as he finished with two blocks to go with eight points (4-for-6 FG), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Sophomore Chris Scarborough, redshirt freshman Calvin McCutcheon and freshmen Michael Gavin and J-Quon Ferrol also contributed for the game. Scarborough had four points and five rebounds, McCutcheon had four points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals, Gavin had seven points, a rebound and an assist and Ferrol had three points and four rebounds.
"(Chris) Scarborough played his butt off," said Parks on Scarborough. "When he gets into the game, our intensity goes up a notch and it was really good to see how big of an effort he made."

The Manatees remain on the road as they travel to Fort Pierce for the two-day Indian River Veteran's Classic. The Manatees will play Indian River State (2-0) on Friday night, November 8 at 7 pm before facing Daytona State (3-0) Saturday afternoon, November 9 at 2 pm. USC Salkehatchie (2-0) will also be competing in the classic, but will not face SCF.
"I'm really excited for this classic," said Parks on the Veteran's Classic. "It's an amazing cause to be a part of because they (Indian River) donate all the proceeds to the veterans and that actually will kickoff our military week, so we will honor those who have served in all branches of the military and we will do a bunch of events involving our veterans. We're really excited about the event."
"As far as the competition goes, Indian River and Daytona are two of the best programs in the state," said Parks on IRSC and Daytona. "Regardless of the past, both teams are extremely well coached."
