2nd Herd Returns Home for Military Night; Readies for Santa Fe

The SCF basketball team (2-2) will look to bounce back from their last road trip as they return home as they welcome College of Central Florida (2-1) to Hal Chasey Gymnasium Friday night, November 15 at 7 pm before traveling to Gainesville to take on Santa Fe (3-1) Saturday afternoon, November 16 at 2 pm.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of two straight losses in the Indian River State Veteran's Classic. They would fall 111-98 to host Indian River before falling 92-77 to now #15 Daytona State.

It's the trio of sophomores D'Moi Hodge and Isiah Dasher and freshman Jordan Clark that are leading the Manatees' offense.

Hodge is averaging 24.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, six assists, 2.3 steals and two blocks per game. In both games at the Indian River State Veteran's Classic, the native of Tortola, British Virgin Islands had a combined 47 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, four steals and four blocks.

Dasher had 39 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists at the Indian River State Veteran's Classic. The New Jersey native is averaging 18 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.

Clark is averaging 20.3 points and four assists per game. At the Indian River State Veteran's Classic, Clark had a combined 47 points and nine assists at the Indian River State Veteran's Classic.

Aside from Hodge and Dasher with their rebounding skills, sophomore Christnoff Scarborough and freshman Marshall Kearing have also been playing strongly crashing the boards. Both Scarborough and Kearing are averaging 4.5 rebounds each with Scarborough adding 5.5 points per game and Kearing adding 6.5 points per game. At the Indian River State Veteran's Classic, Scarborough had only eight points and five rebounds while Kearing had 14 points, including a season-high 10 against Daytona State, and five rebounds.

Military Appreciation Night:
The Manatees will dub this game as 'Military Appreciation Night' and welcome all former and current members of any of the branches of military (army, navy, marines, coast guard, air force and national guard). Those members will get free admission to the game.

Scouting CCF:
The Patriots recently played Hillsborough losing 70-66 on the road. They will play Indian River State (November 12) prior to their arrival at SCF.

The Patriots are led by a trio of sophomores in Jaron Williams (15.3 ppg), Latrell Jones (14 ppg) and Angelo Johnson (13 ppg) in scoring. In their game against HCC, Williams had 12 points and six rebounds, Jones had 10 points and four rebounds and Johnson had 18 points and seven assists.

Sophomore David Anukaenyi leads the team averaging 9.7 rebounds and five points per game despite only having five points and three rebounds against HCC.

Scouting Santa Fe:
The Saints are coming off of defeating Webber International's JV team by a score of 106-45 at home.

Sophomore Luka Filipovic is averaging a double-double of 11.6 points and 10 rebounds per game per game while redshirt freshman Nikola Jerotic leads the team with 13.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Against Webber International, Filipovic had a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds while Jerotic had 19 points and six rebounds.

Freshman Josiah Tynes follows with 10 points per game. Tynes had 10 points against Webber International.

Series History:
The Manatees are currently 1-14 against the Patriots with their most recently being last season where they fell 84-73 in Ocala (12/15/18). The Manatees lone win over the Patriots was on November 9, 2011 where the Manatees won 82-78.

The Manatees are 5-10 against the Saints. Both teams split the series last season at their respective places at home (Santa Fe: 90-83 at Santa Fe, SCF: 89-66 at SCF).
