FGCU WBB vs Johnson and Wales; Saint Francis Preview

The FGCU women's basketball team (3-1) will host a pair of games this week, starting with a 7 p.m. tilt in Alico Arena against NAIA Johnson and Wales (4-0) on Tuesday and concluding with a neutral site home matchup against Saint Francis (1-3) on Friday at 2 p.m. at Florida Southwestern College (FSW). The game against Johnson and Wales will be a season game for the Eagles and as an exhibition. The season game will not effect their RPI ranking.

Friday's game, which will not be streamed or televised, had to be moved from Alico Arena to accommodate the A-SUN volleyball tournament that is being hosted by FGCU Thursday - Saturday.

The Green and Blue, who had a 19-game regular season winning streak snapped on Sunday at Princeton, will look to get back to its winning ways against Johnson and Wales, a team they beat 109-64 last year. That point total is the most that the Eagles have ever scored against a team in the program's Division I era, and Davion Wingate scored a then career-high 28 points in the outing.

Meanwhile, the Saint Francis matchup is the return of a home-and-home series in which FGCU started with an 83-69 win in Loretto, Pa. last year. In that game, Nasrin Ulel scored a game-high 26 points, and Chandler Ryan made several key 3-pointers down the stretch.

Rebounding Legend:
Senior forward Tytionia Adderly has 884 career rebounds, which is just four shy of surpassing Sarah Hansen (887, 2010-14) for the most in program history. Furthermore, she is thus attempting to become the first player in program history with 1,000 rebounds, which would also make her only the 12th in A-SUN history to achieve that milestone. She currently ranks 18th in conference history, just having passed Jessica Bobbitt (Belmont, 2005-09, 878) and Haley Nelson (Belmont, 2008-12, 880) on Sunday.
