SCF Baseball Prepares for the Panama City Classic

Bradenton, Fla - The SCF baseball team (4-1) will be look to keep their batting in order as they will travel to neutral grounds for the three-day Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic Tournamen at the Publix Sports Park in Panama City. The Manatees to take on Wallace CC-Dothan Friday afternoon, February 3 at 2 pm (1 pm central).

If the Manatees win their game against Wallace CC-Dothan, then they will face either Northwest Florida State (1-1-1) or Wabash Valley College on Saturday.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of winning their last game at Wynn Field where they defeated former Suncoast Conference member South Florida State 17-7.

Sophomore Kevin Karstetter leads the Manatees offense as he is batting .421 with eight hits, two home runs and nine RBI. Karstetter went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI in his last game.

Classmate Lucas Ismaili is batting .350 with seven hits and four RBI. He went 4-for-5 with two RBI against South Florida State.

At the plate, freshmen Michael Forret and Ed Wagner lead the way. Both are 1-0 on the year. Forret, a transfer from Eastern Carolina University, is coming off of throwing a no-hitter against Northwest Florida State, while Wagner, a transfer from George Washington University, threw five innings and gave up one hit against Eastern Florida State.

Forret was named the NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week for his performance.

Scouting Wallace CC-Dothan:
Wallace CC-Dothan represent NJCAA Region 17 (Alabama Community College Conference) and are lead by first-year head coach Ryan Ihle. The Governors are coming off of finishing last season 36-22 overall with a 21-12 record in the ACCC where they were the runner-up in the NJCAA Region 17 State Tournament.

This will be the first time both teams will meet.
