SCF Baseball Readies for Three Home Games

Bradenton, Fla - The RV SCF baseball team (6-3) will now look to return home for three straight home games at Wynn Field. The Manatees will welcome Pasco-Hernando State (4-2) Tuesday, February 7 at 5 pm, the Warner University Development Team (NAIA) (1-4) on Wednesday, February 8 at 6 pm and Indian River State (4-2) Thursday night, February 9 at 5 pm.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of competing in the Visit Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic Tournament, where they went 2-2. They would fall to Wallace CC-Dothan (9-0) in the championship bracket on Friday where they would head to the gold bracket. After splitting the second day losing to #17 Northwest Florida State (7-3) in the gold bracket and moving to the bronze bracket, before upsetting #10 Chipola College (3-2), they would defeat San Jacinto College (11-3) to win the bronze bracket finals.


Start the Engines:
Sophomore Kevin Karstetter has been leading the way offensively for the Manatees. Karstetter went 8-for-16 in the tournament with two home runs and six RBI. Currently, he is batting .400 with 14 hits, three home runs and 13 RBI.

Wagging the Strike Zone:
Freshman Ed Wagner leads the way on the mound for the Manatees.Wagner is 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA, four walks and 11 strikeouts. He threw four innings with seven strikeouts in his last outing.

Clines on Cruise Control:
Sophomore Cameron Clines has played a significant role in the bullpen since transferring from Georgia Tech. Clines is currently 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA, two walks and six strikeouts. In his last appearance, Clines threw three innings of relief with five strikeouts and one unearned run in the win against #10 Chipola.

Scouting Pasco-Hernando State:
The Bobcats are coming off of sweeping St. Pete in a doubleheader by scores of 9-2 and 3-1. 

Sophomore Chay Yeager is leading the offense batting .316 with six hits, three home runs and 12 RBI. Yeager is also 2-0 on the mound with a 3.00 ERA, two walks and 11 strikeouts.

Classmate Clay Badylak is batting .368 with seven hits, one home run and five RBI.

Overall, the Manatees are 9-7 against the Bobcats.

Warner University DT:
Warner University is located Lake Wales and represent the NAIA Sun Conference. They are lead by head coach David Moskovits, who enters his first season as their head coach. He is also the assistant coach for the varsity.

Scouting Indian River State:
The Pioneers are coming off of home and home series against Seminole State College where they swept them 5-0 at home and 12-7 on the road. Prior to playing SCF, they will play TNXL Academy Wednesday night, February 8.

Freshman Matthew Rubin leads the way in batting (.500) with six hits, one home run and three RBI. 

Sophomore Gavin Adams, a former SCF player, is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and seven strikeouts.

Overall, the Manatees are 8-3 against the Pioneers.
