SCF Baseball Set for Non-Neutral Road Trip

Bradenton, Fla - The SCF baseball team (8-4) will look to bounce back from their stinging loss on Thursday as they will head on the road for the next two games. The Manatees will travel to New Port Richey as they will face Pasco-Hernando State (5-3) Friday night, February 1 at the PHSC Baseball Field before traveling to Tampa to take on the University of Tampa JV team (1-0) Monday night, February 14 at the UT Baseball Field. Both games will start at 6 pm.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of a stinging loss to Indian River State by a score of 15-2 at home. It was the Manatees' first loss at home.

Sophomore Kevin Karstetter continues to lead the way as he is batting .425 with 17 hits, five home runs and 19 RBI. Karstetter was named the NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week after his performance in Panama City.

Freshman Erick Almonte is not too far behind Karstetter as he is batting .375 with 12 hits and eight RBI.

On the mound, Freshman Ed Wagner is 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA, four walks and 11 strikeouts. In his last outing, Wagner threw four innings with seven strikeouts in the 11-3 win over #6 San Jacinto.

Coach 21 to 350:
For head coach Tim Hill II, he earned his 350 career win as head coach for the Manatees during the win over Warner University JV.

Scouting Pasco-Hernando:
The Bobcats are coming off of shutting out St. Pete by a score of 8-0. 

Sophomore Chay Yeager is leading the offense batting .286 with eight hits, three home runs and 12 RBI. Yeager is also 2-0 on the mound with a 3.00 ERA, two walks and 11 strikeouts.

Classmate Clay Badylak is batting .357 with 10 hits, one home run and seven RBI.

Aside from Yeager, redshirt sophomore Logan Jones is 2-0 with 0.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts.

Overall, the Manatees are 10-7 against the Bobcats. Both teams played earlier in the season with the Manatees taking the win by a score of 11-7 at Wynn Field.

Scouting UT JV:
The Spartans opened their season with a 6-1 win over Inspiration Academy. They will face Rollins College JV in a doubleheader on February 11.

Overall, the Manatees are 25-1-1 against the Spartans.
