The SCF baseball team (4-4) went to a slump as they got swept by Miami Dade (6-1) by scores of 7-3, 3-2 and 6-3. With the losses, the Manatees are now 5-10 (2012-present) against the Sharks.
Game One:
Freshman Daniel Batcher would be dubbed with the loss putting him at 1-1 on the year. Batcher gave up five runs on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Sophomore Rook Ellington finished 1-for-4 with a home run. It was Ellington's first home run with the Manatees.
Game Two:
Sophomore Cole Ayers, who was the starter, would end up with a no-decision after giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits with three walks and eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
Freshman Clay Callahan was dealt with the loss after giving up a walk-off home run in two-thirds of an inning. Callahan is now 1-1 on the year
Sophomore John Malcolm went 1-for-4 with an RBI, while freshman Cameron Lee brought the second run in despite going 0-for-2 with a walk.
Game Three:
Sophomore Jake Smith would go to 1-1 on the year after the loss. Smith gave up four runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts in five innings.
Sophomore Remy Patry had the Manatees lone multi-hit game of the series as he finished 2-for-3 with an RBI. Malcolm (1-for-3) and freshman Michael Dorso (1-for-2) each had an RBI. Dorso also threw one scoreless inning with one strikeout.

Up Next:
The Manatees will remain on the road for the next two games as they travel to Gainsville to take on Santa Fe (8-2) Monday afternoon, February 10 at 3 pm before traveling to Ocala for a rematch with Central Florida (5-2) Wednesday afternoon, February 12 at 2:30 pm. The Manatees defeated the Patriots earlier in the season winning by a score of 3-2 at Wynn Field.
