SCF BVB Sets for First Road Tri-Match

After a successful start to their official inaugural season, the SCF beach volleyball team (1-0) will now set for their first taste of the season on the road as they travel to Tavares, Florida to compete for a tri-match at the Hickory Point Beach Sand Volleyball Complex. The Manatees will take on Bryant & Stratton College (@ noon) and host Lake Sumter (0-4) (@ 2 pm).

Last Time Out:
Lead by head coach Lynn Burnett, the Manatees opened their inaugural season at home at Bee Ridge Park in Sarasota where they defeated Ave Maria University 3-2.

Eight of the team's players are from the indoor volleyball team: sophomores Sydney Jaco, Barbora Tichackova and Emily Sauceda and freshmen Lisa Jaunet, Bailey Sikkema, Leilani Wilcox-Nanai, Gracee Carpino and Brooke Henry. The remaining two newcomers are both freshmen: Noelie Claude and Britzny Lucas.

Claude, a native of Sion Valias, Switzerland, was originally enrolled to be a part of the indoor team fall '19, but was unable to due to document issues. Claude will also be playing indoor volleyball for SCF.

Lucas is a local product from Sarasota via Urapan, Mexico where she was enrolled at Colegio Casa del Nino (English: Casa del NiƱo Bilingual Montessori School) in Arizona.

Scouting Bryant and Stratton:
Bryant & Stratton College is located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and represent NJCAA Region 4 (North Central Community College Conference or N4C). The tri-match for the Bobcats will be their inaugural season opener.

The Bobcats are led by Heather Curley, who also is head coach for the indoor volleyball team. Curley will guide 11 players for the inaugural season.
