SCF Baseball vs Eastern Florida State Preview

The SCF baseball team (8-2) remain in good spirits as they welcome Eastern Florida State College (5-5)  to Wynn Field late Tuesday, February 12 at 5 pm.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of a 7-0 win over the University of Tampa's junior varsity team. The Manatees enter a three-game winning streak which included a 10-1 win over Broward and a 4-0 win over Pasco-Hernando State.

At the plate, sophomore Shane Shifflett leads the team with two home runs and six RBI while batting .219. The Florida transfer did not play against Tampa JV, but against Pasco-Hernando he was 2-for-5 with two RBI.

Redshirt sophomore Brian Dillingham leads the team with a .469 batting average, 15 hits and eight stolen bases. Dillingham was 3-for-5 with three runs and two stolen bases.

On the mound, sophomores Corey Ireson and Aaron Brown paved the way in pitching.

Ireson (1-0, 1.06 ERA) has 15 strikeouts in 14 innings. In his last game against Pasco-Hernando, Ireson threw eight scoreless innings with nine strikeouts for the win.

Brown (2-0, 1.06 ERA) has 25 strikeouts in 17 innings. In his last game, Brown threw seven innings, giving up one run on three hits while walking two and striking out 10 in the win against Broward.

Scouting Eastern Florida State:
The Titans are coming off of a 8-5 loss over College of Central Florida (CCF) on the road.

At the plate, sophomore Clayton Stanley is batting .462 with two home runs and 10 RBI. Stanley was 1-for-3 with a walk against CCF.

On the mound, freshman Connor Brian is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA, one save and 19 strikeouts.

Series History (2012-present):
The Manatees played EFS last season sweeping them 9-7 (2/1) and 14-6 (2/2).
