SCF Basketball Readies for Florida Gateway

The SCF basketball team (13-12, 4-4 Suncoat) will play their last non-conference game as they welcome Florida Gateway College (11-15) to to Hal Chasey Gymnasium Thursday night, February 6 at 7 pm. This will be the first ever matchup between both teams.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of an 86-70 loss to #1 FSW on the road and have yet to beat them.

Offensively, the Manatees are led by the squad of freshmen D'Moi Hodge and Isiah Dasher, redshirt sophomore Tre Alexandrea and sophomores DeAndre Osuigwe and Cyrus Barnes.

Hodge has been running the floor both offensively and defensively. The native of Tortola, British Virgin Islands is averaging 19.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, three steals and two blocks per game. Against FSW, Hodge had a game-high 34 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and a block.

Dasher is averaging 16.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Against FSW, Dasher was held to four points and one rebound.

Alexandrea is averaging 9.6 points and 4.3 assists per game. In the last four games, Alexandra has scored less than 10 points. Against FSW, the Bradenton native had eight points and two assists.

The main benefactor of assists, Osuigwe is averaging 12 points and 5.5 assists per game. Despite playing off the bench, Osuigwe had 14 points and two assists against FSW.

Although being held to three points against FSW, Barnes is still averaging 8.5 points per game.

Scouting Gateway:
The Timberwolves, who are in Division II team in the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8, are coming off of a 91-81 loss to Santa Fe College.

Offensively, freshmen Jaimine Graham, Kenny Brown and Diamond Smith lead the way. Graham is averaging 14.1 points and seven rebounds per game, while Brown is averaging 12.1 points and two assists per game and Smith is averaging 11.5 points per game. Graham had 20 points and nine rebounds against SFC, while Brown had 12 points and three assists and Smith had 28 points.
