The FGCU softball team (7-8) suffered a 2-0 loss to BYU (7-9) and a 5-1 defeat to San Diego (7-9) to finish day one of the San Diego Classic Tournament.
"We squandered another gem thrown by Riley," head coach David Deiros said. "We're slumping right now but we will get better soon."

After a fielding error and a fly out to make it two outs, BYU's Heide Vander tripled down the left field line for the 2-0 advantage – BYU's only hit of the night.
