FGCU WTEN vs Chattanooga Preview

The FGCU women's tennis team (4-6, 0-1 A-SUN) will square off against Chattanooga at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

Last Time Out:
The Eagles fell in a 5-2 match versus Big 10 foe Iowa this past Sunday. Senior Patricia Villar came away with one of two FGCU wins in singles play, collecting a 6-2, 7-5 win on court No. 5 – her first dual match triumph of the season. Meanwhile, junior Maja Ornberg rallied back after dropping her first set, going on to win her second set 6-2, and her third set 6-4.

ITA Top-50 Ranking:
In the ITA/Oracle Women's Poll released on Feb. 26, the Eagles came in ranked at No. 50. It marked the first time in program history the Green and Blue received a spot inside the top-50.

Scouting the Mocs:
Chattanooga comes into Fort Myers with an overall 7-3 record as its seven-match win streak was snapped at No. 50 Tennessee on Mar. 12. Senior Caroline Hall (5-1 on court No. 3) and sophomore Emma Van Hee (6-3 on court No. 6) are both 7-3 in singles action. In doubles competition, Van Hee has teamed up with senior Delaney Edwards to produce a 6-2 record on the top court.
