Scouting Kennesaw State:
- The Owls are looking their fourth A-SUN tournament win in program history, after recording victories in 2011, 2017 and this season. Amani Johnson captured the ASUN Freshman of the Year award. She is third Owl in a row to win the award after Carlotta Gianolla won it in 2016-17 and Kamiyah Street earned it last season. Johnson is coming off one of her most impressive performances of the season. The freshman netted a career-high 21 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Street was named First Team All-ASUN, which is just the second time in program history that a Kennesaw State player has been named to the first team. Street comes into the semifinals having shot 521 times this season, which is a program record. Street was featured on ESPN Sportcenter's Top 10 plays (No. 9) with her last-second shot to force overtime against North Alabama. She won ASUN Player of the Week on Feb. 25 for her play against UNA and FGCU.
- After not capturing a road win during the regular season, the Owls stunned No. 2 seeded Stetson in the quarterfinals. With the win Wednesday, the Owls would advance to the finals for the first time in program history. KSU is looking for its first win against FGCU this season.
The Owls recorded their largest margin of victory in program history over an A-SUN conference opponent versus Lipscomb. Kennesaw State is the only program with two players in the top-15 in the country in minutes per game.
Series History:
FGCU is 24-2 all-time against Kennesaw State, which includes 18 straight victories. The last loss in the series for the Eagles came Feb. 14, 2011 on the road, and they're 12-0 against the Owls in Alico Arena.
