The SCF tennis team (2-4, 1-4 Suncoast) are set for Suncoast Conference play as they welcome St. Pete College (1-4, 1-2 Suncoast) to the SCF Tennis Complex on Thursday, March 14 at 3 pm.
Last Time Out:
The Manatees are hoping to recover from a nail biting 5-4 loss to Eastern Florida State.
In doubles, sophomore Diarra Thomas is currently 3-3. In her last doubles match, teaming with freshman Britian Botsford, the duo won 8-2 against EFSC.
Meanwhile in singles, freshman Sara Ramirez-Goncalves holds a 4-0 record, primarily at #3 singles, which includes an upset win over HCC's #19 Fabiola Candal. In her last singles match against EFSC, Ramirez-Goncalves won 6-3, 6-2 over Chengeto Moyana.
Scouting SPC:
The Titans are coming off of a 6-3 win over NAIA Louisiana State-Alexandria. Sophomore Ann Kathrin Wirlitsch holds a 5-1 overall singles record. Wirlitsch defeated Patricia Matrinez Molina 6-2, 7-6 in her last singles match.
In doubles, the Titans are 3-1 with two of them coming from the duo of Wirlitsch and freshman Saki Matsubara (2-2).
Series History (2012-present):
Overall, the Manatees are 9-5 against the Titans, which included a 5-4 win on the road. The Titans last win was on March 23, 2018 where they won 8-1.
