SCF Tennis vs St. Catherine Preview

The SCF tennis (4-5, 3-4 Region 8) will take a break from conference as they welcome St. Catherine University (5-3, 2-3 MIAC) for a matchup at the SCF Tennis Complex on Wednesday, March 27 at 4 pm.

Last Time Out:
The Manatees are coming off of a road win in conference play as they avenged a loss to Eastern Florida State at home with a 7-2 win at EFSC.

In doubles, it's the duo of sophomore Diarra Thomas and freshman Britain Botsford (4-4) that helped lead the way. Thomas and Botsford have won two straight doubles match, which included a 8-1 win against EFSC.

Meanwhile in singles, Botsford is also 5-4, which includes the 7-5, 6-3 win over EFSC's Emma Othmer while fellow classmate Sara Ramirez-Goncalves is the only Manatee so far that is unbeaten as she is 7-0, which included two wins over two ranked in the top 50 in the nation in Fabiola Candal (#19) and Vanessa Cozamanis (#28). In her last match, Ramirez-Goncalves defeated Chengeto Moyana with a 6-2 pair decision for her seventh win of the season.

Scouting St. Catherine:
St. Catherine is a part of NCAA DIII in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and this is the first matchup between the two teams and will count as a season game for both.

The Wildcats are coming off of an 8-1 conference win over College of Saint Benedict. Senior Leah Obert leads the Wildcats with a 5-0 record in singles (#5 singles) and a 2-0 record in doubles with sophomore Ella Graham. In her last matchup, Obert won her last singles match against CSB by a score of 6-2, 6-1.
